Hey everyone!
I have been lurking around the site for a couple weeks now, so I figured it's time to get involved.
A little about myself: My husband and I are 27, married for 3.5 years, together for 9 years. Just last year I didn't think I wanted kids for a while still, but that didn't last long! However, my husband is still not ready to TTC.
He has given me a lot of reasons...we should save money for a while, he is busy at work...but the real reason which he just told me the other day--he is worried our child would end up with diabetes.
He was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in June of last year, and he is coping wonderfully. It concerns me as well, but not enough to make me not want to have kids at all.
Has anyone else had this specific obstacle?
Also, I thought I saw a cheat sheet for the abbreviations used in the forum, but now I can't find it. Am I crazy, or can someone direct me towards it?
I look forward to chatting with you guys!

Re: Newbie!
Hello and welcome! I am actually a type 1 diabetic of about 13 years now. From what my doctors have told me, diabetes usually skips a generation. Your kids should be ok, however they will need to keep an eye on their kids.
Sure enough my grandpa has diabetes and it did not affect my dad. I am the lucky one that got it!
Welcome!
I've been married for a little over 2 years. Like you, just last year I thought it would be a while before I was ready but recently I've been getting closer to ready.
Looking forward to your posts
