DD got lice.

Saturday, we discovered that DD had lice.  LICE.  I cannot believe that we're dealing with this already! Of course I hoped that we'd never deal with it, but figured if it happened it'd be later than 16 months.  I put mayonnaise in her hair (crazy, but I was trying to avoid the chemical shampoos that are meant for bigger kids), used tea tree oil shampoo, combed all the junk out (talk about nasty!) and I've been checking ever since and haven't seen any more, thank God!  I've washed everything, including the carseat cover and stuck stuffed animals in the dryer.

I think she picked it up from church.  Some youth girls have been holding her a lot, and that's really the only place where she's had contact with other kids.

Anyway, there's no point to this other than I wanted to rant about this somewhere, haha!  I am really hoping it is gone now.  I'll keep checking and combing for at least a week.

H was being held yesterday and for a second I got worried for lice. Ugh.

DS has aunts and uncles that are in elementary and middle school, so last year when it was passed around their school, I found one on him. Just one.

I was SO MAD. I swore he'd never see them again, and yelled at MIL.

 

We all took care of it right away though.

Ugh! Lice are awful! I'm sorry you had to deal with them already, and I really hope that you got them all.

Updated to say: So far so good, we've seen no more since Saturday.  Just one day of terrible-ness and a lot of laundry!  I'm still checking but haven't found anything else.  ::Shudders::
