Best Stroller for NYC- Uppababy Vista or Bugaboo Cameleon

Any suggestionss or pros/cons about the Uppababy Vista vs Bugaboo Cameleon for Manhattan living? I live in a elevator building so no worries about stairs and I won't really have much use for a car either.

I like the big storage space on the Vista but feel that the Bugaboo is more sturdy and the suspension on the tires seems good for NYC sidewalks. Also like the interchangeable color options on the Bugaboo. Price difference isn't really that big of an issues.

Thanks in advance!

  • The Bugaboo is a complete pain to fold. You said that you won't be using a car, but at some point, you'll either use a car, bus, or subway for transportation. Folding the Bugaboo is horrendous, in my opinion. Go to Buy Buy Baby and play with folding both strollers; you'll see what I mean.

  • I live in NYC and have the uppa baby vista. It was great for the bassinet and when DS was younger facing us (he is 18 months now) but we also have the city mini and LOVE it! In fact, we use that more than the uppa and have been since he was about 8 months old. The uppa baby and the bugaboo are both pains for traveling of any kind. Like pp said, I would go to buy buy baby and try out all of the strollers.

  • I live in the city and been thinking about it a lot and tested at BBB. Going with the Cameleon. It is simply the best strolled around.
  • I know this isn't one of the ones you're considering, but I've been polling people in my neighborhood, and EVERYONE either loves, or wishes they had, the city mini. Two different moms I've talked to liked their bugaboos, but said the wide wheel base was difficult to maneuver in shops and subway. But YMMV.

  • I also ended up going with the city mini after testing out all the options at Albee baby.  Bun is still in the oven so I can't say for sure, but the city mini was so much lighter, easier to fold, etc than the other options!  Also seems very sturdy and is MUCH cheaper than the other options.
  • i wanted a bugaboo chameleon at first but after testing it out at buy buy baby it really was a huge pain in the ass to fold so we went with the bugaboo bee instead which is much easier to fold. it also comes in great colors
  • I love the iCandy peach.  It is the sturdiest and sleekest and my son loves it.  You don't need the bassinet attachment because the seat reclines to a flat position for those first few months.  You can check it out at BBB.
