Movements?

I have 2 questions and both are pure curiousness on the part of this FTM.

1.  What is my baby likely doing?

Normally I am pretty good at figuring out kicks, and rolls, etc but all day today its been doing something off and on its like kicks but they are significantly weaker then they have been up to this point. Sometimes they are consistent but mostly its at random patterns and random intervals.

2. Has anyone else had these sorta days or fluctuations in their LO's movement strength and movement patterns in general?

Everyone keeps telling me I should feel the baby move like 6 times per hour through out the day ( im 29 weeks tomorrow ) but I have never found it to be constant or that easy to feel the baby move. But I didn't let it bother me to much because there has to be different things for different LO's and mine seems to have really active days and then really quiet. But its never felt weaker then normal? So yeah hence the questions could it be doing something different then kicking like normal and anyone else still not getting constants with the baby?

TIA

Re: Movements?

  • Your fine sounds pretty normal honestly. To count its best to do ita half hour after you eat and while lying down.

  • The weaker consistent ones might be hiccups :)

This is what I was thinking. My LO was moving non-stop on Friday .literally. I don't know what got into him but there was hardly an hour that went by that he was not making some type of movement. But then all through the night he was quiet and most of the next day. And all of his movements very in strength maybe their hiccups maybe their just lazy kicks or maybe their even little punches but this has become the norm for me.

  • Everyone told me that too. My baby is not big on moving around, he stretches, like he's doing yoga or something. It makes my doctor crazy, so I get hooked up monitors a lot, but he is perfectly healthily. Also, my placenta has been in front of him the whole time and so when he does get the wiggles, they are muffled. I feel him more now that I'm closer to my EDD, probably because he's running out of room :) but it's nothing like what my sister and friends had with their babies...I'm hoping he is mellow and relaxed like my husband instead of hyper-active like me :)
