Is the time ever right?

My mother always told me "when you're ready you'll know" when it comes to planning a family. My husband and I have only been married 6 months and all of a sudden we can't stop talking about/thinking about anything except starting our family. Our finances are fine and we have a house, but I still keep worrying we are too young or that it's not the right time. Does everyone feel like that? Or do you go into it 100% being positive it's the "right" time?

Nothing is EVER completely perfect in life. It never will be. If you and your husband are financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually ready, then go for it. The only people that can know that are you and him. Good luck!

Even if you do think the timing is completely perfect, you may still have an OMG what did we just do moment. If you are ready go for it, but don't bother waiting for a magical moment where everything falls right into place because that may never happen. GL

I don't think there is ever a RIGHT time. I do think though there is a time where you and your DH think you are ready to take on such a responsibility.

I think it's more about being in the right mindset. Some people's parental "drive" doesn't kick in until later in life, maybe they are focused on their career or maybe they are just completely freaked out by kids. If you feel like you are ready to be a parent and your relationship is stable then go for it. I've been baby crazy for a while now, but even I had a bit of a freak out moment when I officially stopped taking my BCP a couple months ago.
