I'm 30 weeks pregnant and it's happened twice...not in bright light, just once in the shower while behind some shade of the shower curtain (after just getting in) and once in our master bedroom with a stand-up lamp on behind me....It's the strangest thing. Very pretty but a bit freaky. Little gold twinkles, to my upper right and upper left and when I follow them with my eyes like a child watching snow (except these rise up instead of down), they gradually disappear. But it's several seconds. It's long enough for me to actually have the thought: "Wow, can anyone else see this?" Then I just stand there like a crazy person. LoL.....Anyone have this problem? I read about "floaters" but they didn't sound quite like this.
Re: Seeing gold twinkles; like snow floating upward...Anyone else?
This. I had pregnancy induced hypertension with both my pregnancies. Seeing stars can be a sign of high bp/preeclampsia. You definitely don't want to ignore it. My bp actually got worse after I delivered DD1 and I started seeing stars. I had to be on labetalol for a month, and then my bp went back to normal and I was able to wean off of it. I only needed it for a couple wks with DD2.
Laying on your left side should help bring your bp down, in the mean time. And stay well hydrated.
DD1: allergic to eggs & dairy
c/p 4/1/11
DD2: milk and soy protein intolerant, allergic to eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, bananas
