Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Pulling to stand to Walking??

My LO is now pulling himself up to a stand, on just about everything he can lol. He is also ALREADY trying to stand on his own without his hands...but he has only been pulling to a stand for a week or so!

How long did it take your LO to start walking after they could pull themselves to a stand and stand on their own? TIA (:

  • DD has been pulling up to stand since 8.5mo.  She can walk assisted, but can not stand or walk on her own yet.  She'll be 11mo in a few days.

  • It took DD a while...I want to say she started pulling to stand around 8 months (maybe 9) but she didn't want independently until 13 months.

  • Great question; I've been wondering that too. My LO has been pulling himself to a stand for a few weeks and started cruising a couple of weeks ago, and he's been good at walking assisted for a while. Hoping our babies take those first few unassisted steps before too long!

3 months and counting. :( And he has been free standing for close to a month.

He has just started walking around the table with one hand, though. So it might be happening soon.

SO exciting!!! I'm sure it'll be soon too (: got an early one on your hands.

I'm not too worried about him walking or anything like that! In fact, I don't really want him walking QUITE yet lol!!

  • DD has been pulling herself up on things since she was about 6 months old.  She has been letting go and standing on her own (about 10-15 seconds or so) for about three weeks.  However, she is just now starting to show any sign of trying to hold onto furniture and "walk" along it.  She just turned 8 months old.  I think it takes a lot of babies awhile before they actually walk independently from the pulling up on stuff phase.  I'm in no rush for her to walk.  Crawling everywhere is bad enough.
