DD's day routine is like this -- she's usually up for good around 8am... we eat, play, and she's back down for a nap around 11 am or noon. Usually she will just be in and out of naps for the rest of the day... and is up again around 8 8:30 pm. I nurse her, change her, and she's just up. Not tired, no sleep in sight.
She starts to yawn around 9:30-ish, Then DH takes over to try and get her to sleep, so I can get a head start on the night. She has a hard time going down this time. It takes DH a good hour of sshhhhing, rocking, walking around with her.
She gets up around 1ish DH gives her a bottle (I pump a bottle a day for this). She's back down by 1:30, and then the rest of the night it's all me.
This works OK for me, because I get a solid 5-6 hours of sleep between 10 pm and 3:30 am when she gets up again. But I wonder if there is a way to get this schedule better. I know a lot of people start the nighttime routine earlier, but how can we if she's only getting up from her nap at 8-8:30 pm?
At this age, maybe I just let her do her thing?
Re: When did you start a nighttime routine?
You are very lucky
We need to try what you're doing!
