sleep issues

DD will not sleep! I'm lucky if she takes a couple 15 min naps during the day and sleeps a couple hrs during the night. We have tried the night time bath lotions, keep her on a regular bed time schedule, a music mobile, white noise, swaddling, rocking, you name it. I even looked up tips for getting babies to sleep online. Poor baby is getting circles under her eyes and still won't sleep! We have an appointment Monday so I'm going to ask about it then, but if you ladies have any suggestions that might get us through the weekend that would be wonderful, at this point I will try just about anything!

Re: sleep issues

  • Will your LO sleep in your arms or lap? Ive heard that sometimes when babies have a hard time sleeping that if you can get them to sleep good for a few hours then sometimes that helps. Sleep promotes more sleep. I had to do that once... let my LO sleep good in my arms for a few hours when he was having trouble sleeping and then he was back to sleeping good.

  • So we saw the Dr today, DD has a sensory issue that is common in preemies, he's not sure if that's causing the sleep problem since it could be over stimulation from dh letting her watch so much tv with him in the evening. Her Dr said 1 hr of visual stimulation from tv can keep her stimulated up to 6 hrs after, so she isn't allowed tv stimulation for 6 wks to rule that out before he recommends her for ot for the sensory issue. Dh is gonna have a rough time lol the tv is his idea of bonding time lol.
