Hey,

I'm new to this message board and want to introduce myself. I am 26, my husband and I have been married for a 1 1/2 but dated for 8 years prior to marriage. I just went off my BC starting this week. I've definitively been feeling weird being off the pill, which I was on for ~10 years. I am really emotional, excited at the idea of getting pregnant but to the extreme and my sex drive is really high, which is a big change for me. 

I'm very hopeful that we won't have trouble conceiving but in the back of my mind I'm really worried. I'm also really excited to be a mom but also nervous at the same time. 

Also I've been reading up on ovulation signs and I'm not sure if I'm actually ovulating or if my mind is playing tricks on me, but I've been having mild cramping the last two days, and the ovulation calculator was showing Nov. 29-Dec. 5th as being my ovulation period. 

So that's it for now. Anyone else in the same or similar situation? I'm the first of my friends to be trying so I don't really have anyone to talk to about all this stuff.

    Welcome to the board. Those "ovulation calculators" are crap as they generalize every woman.

    I would suggest reading the newbie link.

    A great way to learn more about this process is to read the book Taking charge of your fertility. Another great resource is the site fertilityfriend. It has free courses. I also suggest temping and charting, which is where fertilityfriend comes in handy. These things will help you know when you ovulate, which really will increase your odds! Also look into wondfo ovulation predictor kits. Good luck!

    Welcome! As PP have said, ovulation calculators are wack. Charting will be a much more accurate way of knowing about your O date.
    Unfortunately, coming off BCP can do crazy things to your body, it will take time to regulate.

    Like the others, I'd encourage you to check out Fertility Friend.  It's pretty awesome.  You can put the app on your phone, too.  :)

    Welcome and good luck! Coming off of BC can be pretty crazy! I went off in July and I'm still not sure that I'm completely back to "normal."

    You should consider charting your BBT to help in the TTC process a lot of women here do it, I'm on my 3rd cycle charting and FWIW I wish I would have started right at the beginning of all this!
