And I feel pretty effing stupid now.
LO's feet seemed to be getting really close to the tops of her sneakers, so I figured I'd grab a pair of the next size up at Kohl's today. They didn't have any size 6's there- which turned out to a good thing, because I ended up walking right next door to Stride Rite and having her feet measured.
Yea- She's an effing 6.5!! How is it possible for me to squeeze her fat/huge feet into size 5's? I'll tell you how! She scrunches her feet when you put sneakers on (she was doing it the entire time we were fitting the new shoes) so even with bigger shoes- or rather, the right size- she still scrunches her toes up- so they feel like they're way too big! The thing was, I never realized she was scrunching them in the hard soled sneakers, the lady at Stride Rite told me she's doing it. It felt like she still had some room in her regular sneakers (just nearly to the tops). Well I'm so glad we stopped in and had her feet measured, now I just need to figure out how to get her to stop scrunching up her toes- which hopefully will resolve on its own now that she's got a lot more room.
So I guess I don't get the Gold Star Mom sticker this month!
