hi all.. i havent really been active on this board since my son was born. but i wanted to ask and see if anyones LO is using "words". my son will babble at home sometimes but at daycare he sits quietly and doesn't say anything. can anyone relate? thanks!

We're in the same boat. His teacher is always surprised when he talks when I pick him up, and at home he won't stop talking. He babbles a lot but also has a ton of recognizable (at least to me) words.
Q is very shy in public. If there is alot going on around him, you're lucky to get 4 babble words out of him. If he was in daycare, I would be he would not say a word because of all the activity. He just likes to get his bearings before he feels comfortable weighing in.

Halle doesn't talk much, but when she does, it is intentional and generally understandable words.
That said, my son was a huge babbler at home, and very quiet in public until at least 18 months when he finally started using real words a bit more.

Same! We get an occasional "that/what's that" but otherwise just babbles.
