Halle doesn't talk much, but when she does, it is intentional and generally understandable words.

That said, my son was a huge babbler at home, and very quiet in public until at least 18 months when he finally started using real words a bit more.

We're in the same boat. His teacher is always surprised when he talks when I pick him up, and at home he won't stop talking. He babbles a lot but also has a ton of recognizable (at least to me) words.

DD2 just says go and dada.  DD1 was the same way. I don't know why I was in such a hurry to hear her talk because she never starts talking now. Ha!

Q is very shy in public. If there is alot going on around him, you're lucky to get 4 babble words out of him. If he was in daycare, I would be he would not say a word because of all the activity. He just likes to get his bearings before he feels comfortable weighing in.

Same! We get an occasional "that/what's that" but otherwise just babbles.

K babbles nonstop.  She also says a good amount of recognizeable words.  She will randomly call out my parents dogs name when we are grocery shopping
