And mine is that I hate all the Christmas decorations and music.  I'm Jewish and it just seems like someone shoving their culture down my throat.  It also doesn't match what the true essence of Christmas as a religious holiday is.  It's commercialized and overdone (I started seeing stuff Labor Day--really?!?)

I think if you have to ask what HDBD, UO or FFFC is every week, then you should consider participating on this board more, lol. 

My other UO is....it's not a freakin Holiday tree, it's a Christmas Tree.  And if I want to say "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays" then I will.

I find some of the signatures on here incredibly annoying and when I see them I have to immediately scroll past becasue I HATE looking at them so much.  One of the ones I hated recently changed (not yours jerseygirl, I loved your old one too) and it's so much more tolerable now.  There are still some that I cringe looking at though.

On the christmas commercialization topic, we're an agnostic family and we still celebrate christmas. I get a lot of crap for it from our catholic families, but we will continue to celebrate it as a secular holiday.

My UO is that I genuinely don't understand why someone wouldn't name their child a name they love just because it's "too popular." If you love a name, even if it's super popular, I don't see why you wouldn't use it.

Also, I can't stand Katie Couric. I think she is unbeleivably annoying. lol Random much?

I wouldn't use a super popular name because I don't want my daughter to end up being one of 6 Bellas or Charlottes or Emmas or whatever in her class. We had 3 Nicoles and a handful of Jamies when I was in elementary school and they were all Nicole M. or Nicole S., and I was always glad I had a unique name.

And ITA on Katie!

Yeah, I can see that. I guess in my mind, it's such a short period of time and a popular name will only last for so long. I named my Ds Ethan and lucky enough, we don't know any other Ethan's. Probably because no one wants to name their son Ethan? :]

My SIL invited over 200 people to one of her baby showers for her twins. That's more people then I had at my wedding and I thinks it's ridiculous. It was a Facebook invite and I would personally be embarrassed. I thnk about 70 people have RSVP'd. She also registered for the $300 peg prego high chairs but no car seats.

I get stabby when people refer to the a/s as the gender ultrasound. There's more to the a/s than finding out the sex. Yes, I get that it's exciting to find that out, but we've already had one May mama find out her baby had a potentially fatal defect at hers, and in the coming weeks, I wouldn't be surprised if we have more bad news. The main purpose of the a/s is to check the baby for abnormalities, including heart, lungs, brain, skull and bones. This is serious business, people.

I don't want constant drama but there have been some questionable things posted that I think should have been called out on but no one really has. 

I mean I guess it takes a little while for a board to get a feel for each other and stuff but so far I still like frequenting the other boards because they are more lively.

I think its rude when ppl invite a bunch of ppl to their kids bday party and dont send thank yous for gifts and for attending. If youre child is too young to write thank yous, you should.

Are you kidding me?  As puppies and rainbows as this board is most of the people would get eaten alive on baby names... or most other boards on the bump.

I actually don't mind the daily letter ones cause it has given me a couple of ideas I've never thought of.

lol, I'm probably just a b!tch and no one else has noticed.  There have just been a lot of things I have side eyed and on my first BMB or other boards I frequent I would have said something about but on this board I definitely don't feel like becoming a pariah for calling someone out for stuff.

I'm pissed off because I can't think of an unpopular opinion to share. I'm legitimately angry. Like, if someone came into my office right now I'd probably just glare and snark and be deliberately unhelpful.

This one has been said before, but I have no problem calling the sex the gender. It's a freaking baby, you all know what we mean. It'd be different if we were talking about a person with some kind of cognitive awareness, and I understand and appreciate the distinction, but an unborn baby does not have a sense of gender identity and I think for the time being we can just call a spade a spade without people getting all twarked out.

ITA!!

My UO is that I can't see ANY point in doing a home birth. My SIL is due any day and is having her baby at home in her bathtub with only a midwife present. The only benefit I can see is not having to sit in traffic to get to the hospital. I just don't get it.

THIS! they act as if it's the only song out there. although I can tolerate Christmas music, but the same song over and over, even if it's by a different artist, so annoying.

 I just don't understand how pics of a baby with food all over its face is cute. It just makes me think "ew, clean that baby up!" (And during much of 1st tri, it made me think, "Ack! Look at something else quick! Think of lemons!)

Maybe when I have a baby, it will get food all over its face and I will say, "gosh, look at that adorable turnip face!" but I doubt it. Or perhaps turnips are not cute...maybe it is only sweets and fruit?

Thiiiiiiiiiiis. Also, what self-respecting parent posts information about their child's bowel habits on facebook? If you seriously can't go another minute without sharing with the world that Junior just pooped in the f-ing potty, then you need to get some hobbies. I don't care about exploding diapers or constipated kids or potty training. No one else does either. These things aren't ammusing to anyone.

And while I'm at it (now I'm on a roll), I think posting pictures of your naked/near naked/underwear-only kid on facebook is just asking for some creep to masterbate to it. It doesn't matter how tight your privacy setting are, once it's on the internet, it's there for good.

And finally (I swear this is it) I don't feel sorry for moms who don't get any sleep. I think it's just a fact of life with kids, get used to it.

I agree.  I was on TTGP for a few months and a lot of the things that are posted here would not have gone over well on that board.  Not going to lie though...I'm not sure if I could handle anything other than rainbows and butterflies.  My hormones are so out of whack I never know what will set me off.

This.  Granted, I tend to be an anxiety-ridden worrywart, but I am completely flabbergasted that people take their moms, sisters and BFF's to their scans.  It's a medical procedure that has the potential for a bad outcome, not a freaking party.  On the other hand, it might be nice sometimes to live like nothing bad can happen and only focus on the fun stuff.

This! Exactly! My sisters youngest daughter ALWAYS has food all over her face. It is so disgusting. At one point earlier on in this pregnancy I had to tell my mom to keep her away from me or I would throw up. I am constantly wiping my daughters face and I absolutely do not need pictures to remember how gross it is to see her covered in food.

I think the 1st birthday cake photos are icky as well as pictures of pureed food eating.  It's bad enough to see adults mowing down food, What makes someone think I want to see their baby eating food.

Things that bother me about Christmas:

• the older style huge lightbulb lights in multiple colors that people forget about and leave hanging up on their roof all year long.  Just because you don't turn them on doesn't mean that we can't see them.  Get your lazy ass up and take them down.
• Houses so bright and blinding that I don't need a streetlight to walk my dog.  Turn it down!
• And the worst -Huge Inflatable Anything in your yard for any holiday/reason.  They're a huge waste of money, quite tacky and look horrible deflated laying in your yard during the day.  Ugh.  I really can't believe people buy those things.

There are such good UOs today!!! I could agree to more than half of them. 

My UO is that I don't understand announcing the name of an unborn baby. It's fine if you want to talk to your baby and refer to him/her by a name. I guess I just don't like when people refer to their baby by name in conversation.
