Luca just had croup last week and started feeling better Saturday. Yesterday I got a call from daycare telling me he had a 102 fever. I went to get him and when I gave him tylonal he gagged and threw up. He was lethargic and sleepy all night, ate a piece of bread for dinner, and slept really good through the night. When he woke up his fever was 104! I gave him advil and its going down now. He is snuggly and lethargic again, doesn't really seem to be in any pain.
I'm wondering if I should go to the walk in hours at the pedi like I did last week, or just wait and call to see what they say. The dr is a 30 minute drive and I don't want to waste our time and gas going out there if it's not necessary.
Thoughts?
Re: Sick boy
I would definitely take you DS into the walk-in hours.
About a month ago, Abby had a fever of 102-103 for 2 days. On the third day, in the morning, it reached 104, even with Motrin. I got in around lunch to the dr and they sent us straight to the hospital for IV fluids and some bloodwork, urine cultures to rule out any serious infection. Abby's fever was gone in 24 hours and she started eating again within 12 hours.
Hope he feels better soon!!
Thanks for the concern everyone! I took him in and he has an ear infection
The advil brought his fever down luckily. She said if he still has a fever on Saturday to bring him bak in.
I also think he is cutting his bottom molars, he got the tops ones a couple weeks ago, so that might be adding to it.
