October 2011 Moms

You know you've read Goodnight Moon

Too many times when you start to look for hidden meanings in the words and pictures.

Loony bin, party of one checking in. Anyone else?

Who was it here in another GM post that said that the bunny is "shady as s hit?" That still makes me lol.
July 20th, 2012: Never forget the day the fb douchebags tried so hard, but ultimately failed. Viva la October 2011! Yeah, I called you douchebags.

That was me and I stand by it!  Wink

I've read some of T's books so often that I'm giving the characters foreign accents and distinct personalities just to keep me interested.

I understand the need to keep the nostalgia, but they really could modernize the illustrations.

i actually love it and how typical it is of the time period. I just find myself looking for subtle differences in the room from page to page, feeling like some JFK conspiracy theorist.

I've read The Very Busy Spider so much that I don't even use the book anymore. I will recite the book when I'm changing DD, giving her a bath, driving...sometimes to spice it up I mix up the animals and their sounds. "Oink, oink, said the dog. Want to go for a swim?"

I know The Cat in the Hat by heart. I can read the whole book in the dark without even seeing it. I find myself randomly reciting it during the day. It's pretty pathetic.

I do the same with Goodnight Moon too! I am constantly looking for differences on each page. My DD loves this book though! I'm so over it...
