i have been working on a small stash for the past few months but am starting to wonder what i need "a stash" for. when i go back to work next month, i plan to use what i pump the day before to feed LO the next day. i tend to keep a few bottles of freshly pumped milk in the fridge at all times and then whatever extra i have goes into the freezer.
i guess my questions are this:
when i go out for a few hours should i be giving my LO the fresh milk or should i be thawing out the frozen to make use of the stash and keep it rotating?
when do you use your frozen stash?
thanks!
Re: ?'s on my stash
This exactly. Plus after you start weaning, you could give your baby the frozen milk as a nighttime bottle till your stash ends. That's my plan.

Build Build Build that is my best advice. With DD my supply started to drop around 6 months and I could not keep up until 9 months when she started taking more solids and her milk needs dropped. There are some women that are able to operate on the theory feed what you pump but there is no way my daughter and mother who watches her would have survived if I was only sending 8 to 10 ounces, which was what I was pumping at the time even with extra sessions. The stash saved me from having to supplement . Additionally I use large chunks of it when I travel for work. In two weeks I will be using 75 ounces for a three day trip. This time around I needed to have a test done and I had to pump and dump for 48 hours thank God for my stash
