MMR and delayed fever?

Did anyone's LO's have a reaction to the MMR days after getting the shot?

Gator got her shot last Tuesday. Last night she was up all night with a fever bouncing around between 101 and 103. Now all day we have been battling the fever, it's still bouncing around between 101 and 104. She woke up and had a little bit of nasty snot, but I haven't seen any snot since 8am this morning. She has no other symptoms...besides being cranky because she is uncomfortable. I thought I saw something on the board about kids getting rashes or fevers days after getting the shot.

Should I be worried about it and call the doctor? It's hard to judge since she doesn't have any other symptoms.

Re: MMR and delayed fever?

  • Our doc told us it happens 7 to 10 days after the shots. Gavin got a high fever around that time but he also got really sick ear infection and strep throat. Hope your LO gets better soon!

  • Yes! DD had a reaction about 10 days out. She had a fever and a rash.
  • Brooke had a fever like this a week after her MMR shot.  Then she got a rash. They still don't know if it was the MMR vaccine or Roseola.  Either way, it had to run it's course.
  • Thanks ladies. I will keep an eye on it and if any other symptoms come up contact the Ped
