Meh.. I think I will just tell him. We're not really into all the fluff and stuff.

I just told him last time and made him look at the barely there second line on the HPT. I will do the same thing this time.
He knows I test in the morning and sometimes sees the tests sitting there. I would feel like I was lying if I didn't tell him so I could come up with some cute way of telling him.
I hope I will be pregnant way before father's day.
I'm so romantic... I'll show him a pee'd on stick.
This is what I did both times. The first time he had tried to come into the bathroom when i was testing so I yelled for him not to, and then showed him that it was positive. The second time I told him I decided on a picture for a canvas I had one and showed him a pic of the pee stick.
I'll probably do it agai if I get another Bfp.

BFP #3 1.19.13 EDD 10.1.13 Eleanor born 10.7.13 at 40 weeks 6 days
When I had my son, I told him I thought I was pregnant and he knew when I took the test which was positive instantly.
I THINK I am pregnant now with #2, and I haven't mentioned it to him yet...I am debating on telling him tonight or just testing in the morning before work and telling him when I get home- either way...
( we weren't actually "trying" we had talked about having one and recently he has been less careful, but I was watching the calendar and we didnt have sex on CD 10- 16, I was actually gonna shoot for next month...)
If I can keep it together enough to not run out of the bathroom yelling with pants down, I have a onesie with his favorite team on it that I'll give him. No big/fancy plan for me.
We will probably do something more exciting for family, but not sure what yet. ILs all live in other states, so it will probably have to be over skype
I like doing something special. He got to surprise me with a proposal. I get to surprise him with BFPs. So far, it's still fun. If it stops being fun, well, then I'll just tell him.
With our son, our wrote on the bathroom wall with those washable crayons "You're going to be a dad!" and filled the tub with pink and blue balloons. He saw it when he went to take a shower in the morning.
With this one, I made him an invitation to the birth of his second child - I'll fill in my due date once I get a BFP. I'll place it on his car seat along with a baby girl's pink frilly dress that I got and he'll discover it in the morning (some morning.)

Oh, I love this idea. If this cycle is successful, we will find out right before christmas. I could totally be on board with making him unwrap a Ravens onesie as an early present.
My first two kids I just showed him the pee stick. I will probably do the same for this one too. Now for the family, I will probably do something cute. I thought about buying the kids "big bro," big sis," shirts. See how long people take to notice.
I really didn't think I would do anything cutesy UNTIL today when I was looking for Christmas presents for DH on the Indiana U website. I came across a bib that says "I watch Indiana basketball with my daddy" and a onesie that says Peace, Love, Hoosiers.
I just couldn't help myself so that is what DH will get when (FX) the time comes.
Married my love 8-25-12
TTC #1 September 2012. BFP 2-2-13. DS born 10-16-13.
TTC #2 in December 2014. BFP 12-31-14. Expecting a September baby!
Unfortunately my 18 year old daughter probably wouldn't appreciate me foisting a "Big sister" t-shirt on her, so that's out. But I have ordered a Hobbit onesie (DH and I are big Lord of the Rings/Hobbit fans) that I will give to him...if I don't just come bursting out of the bathroom waving the peestick in his face, as I'm sure I'll just do anyways!
Married August 2012. Me: 41 DH: 42
Daughter from previous marriage: 20
BFP 12/19/12:
Ectopic discovered at 8 weeks, right tube removed 01/18/13
June 2013 Testing Results: Progesterone: 31.7, LH: 5, FSH: 5, Estradiol: 161 Clomid cycles Nov. 2013 and Jan, Feb, and March 2014
I will probably end up telling him because I would be way excited to not.
If I could keep it hush through out the work day I plan on buying black t-shirts for him and dd and getting a bleach pen and writing on them, making one say daddy and the other sister. I told my daughter about this idea and she thought it was great except she knows me all to well and said MOM you know you wont be able to kep it a secret!. lol
The first time we told parents and siblings as soon as we tested, then the rest at my Grandmas 85 birthday by giving her a teddy bear in a box with baby tissue and a Great Grandma Card. they rest I kinda told by working it into conversation over Thanksgiving dinner. (at 8 weeks...)
This time I think i want to wait to tell everyone including parents and my 4 yr old son. I was thinking about it today and if i do test positive in the morning...I will be 8 weeks just before Christmas. So Maybe I will get a Big brother shirt for DS and write on his magnadoodle my EDD and then put them in an envelope for everyone to open at the same time when we do gifts.
If this isn't it I will have to come up with another plan based on what time of year we are prego and it's ok to tell!
DH, DD and I all have Sperry Topsiders that match, as well a a little pair from when DD was a few months old. I will probably have those all out together to tell him.
We are planning on doing that for a picture when it comes time to tell our families and friends!
So my DH proposed on the top of a mountain while we were on a snowboarding trip. He gave me a kinderegg *because as odd as it is at 29 I love those things* and I didn't suspect anything because he kept getting me kindereggs the last 2 weeks. So I opened it and pulled out the toy, then noticed a piece of paper, so yanked it out and as I read the note that said "Will you marry me?" he pulled out the ring. It was so sweet and perfect in everyway, so maybe when the time comes and I only hope soon, I will put a little baby toy inside the kinderegg and give it to him to open. Maybe I'll print off a picture of a bun in the oven and stick it into the kinderegg.... Something along those lines...
If this is my month I will expect AF the 21st so I am going to poas and put it in SOs stocking Xmas morning, if I can hold it in that long. He already thinks i wont test until the 29th, figured ill start the lie now.If this isn't my month I have no idea.
With my first, I tested around 4 AM because I woke with a "feeling" and got a positive. I decided to not wake him and tell him when he woke on his own. I made it until 4:12 before waking him and screaming that we did it! He was so happy, even if it was way before the sun was coming up.
This time around, I want to have my son hand him a onsie or something when he comes home from work. We shall see...
I have little shoes that I want to surprise DH with. I may just show him the stick then surprise him with the shoes later. I do not think I can play it cool for more than 30 seconds.
I made DH walk around a babies r us not too long ago just to look and I saw this adorable giraffe baby mat. I want to buy it sometime soon and hide it in storage so that when I get a BFP I can lay it on the living room floor before he gets home from work.
I told him I wanted to do that, so he'll know what it means. (I LOOOVVEE giraffes!)

i have shirts that the kids would wear that said they would be a big brother and big sister. . I am also working on a plan to go with it. I want to make this one special for him.
I have a onesie with his favorite team on it that I'll give him.
This is a great idea.
If I can hold myself together enough to not test when he's there, my plan is to put together a romantic proposal-type setup: candles, maybe even rose petals, maybe a congrats cake... and in the middle of it all, the positive pee stick.
We're not planning to tell any family until we get a heartbeat, so my idea is to mail each family member a copy of the first ultrasound, and make a cute frame ("Future Grandma", etc) to go with it.
If I am blessed with a BFP this month, I will tell DH on Xmas. I've already thrown him off the track by telling him if it happens this month we'd find out right AFTER (in reality, I'd know right before) so it could be a surprise. Not holding my breath, but would certainly be a lovely way to tell him, I think.
Our Baby Girl, Emma, changed our lives forever when she was born 12-19-13
I used to have grand plans of doing it in some sort of amazing way. Now, after this long, it will likely be something like: "Check this shiz out." Whilst showing the pee stick.
** After 2 1/2 years of Unexplained IF, 2 failed medicated cycles, and 4 failed IUI's - our baby girl came to us through the miracle ofMini IVF! **
Last time I told him to close his eyes and put an apple seed in his hand and when he opened them I told him that was how big our baby was. I was able to get it all recorded and it was awesome.
This time I think I am going to put up a "welcome home dad" banner with some pink and blue balloons and streamers. When I hear him come in I will be able to record this one as well.
I am excited! I've been trying really hard to find a better idea but still stuck on the banner idea.
Me: 32 DH: 37 Married: May 24, 2008 TTC #2 since: June 2020
I showed DH the pee sticks while he was still in bed last time. This time I would like to put DS in a big brother shirt but that could mean keeping it to myself for a while as I'll need to buy the shirt (I'm not going to buy one now...what if it takes more than a year to conceive and the shirt is too small?) I'll probably blurt it out again before I can have some elaborate cute way of telling him the news.
Last time I told him to close his eyes and put an apple seed in his hand and when he opened them I told him that was how big our baby was. I was able to get it all recorded and it was awesome.
Because we had a loss last time, I'll probably just KIS and show him the pee stick. Or he'll just ask me when I come out of the bathroom. But you never know. Maybe I'll bust out our fur baby's "I'm going to be a big sister!" shirt again. It's pretty adorable. I like the idea of that "My Boys Can Swim" book, too. Or the "bun in the oven" gag, haha. Okay, I have no idea.
My husband is a comic artist and loves Batman so I'd probably get a Batman onesie (already have one in mind). Or I could get a dog t-shirt for our dog that says "I'm gonna be a big brother". Or I could make him a playlist of songs artists have done about their kids, like Ben Folds's "Still Fighting It" and "Gracie". Or I'll just waive a pee stick in his face and be like, "LOOOOOOOOK!"
I was due just before Christmas so I used a onesie that had a reindeer on it that said "I love Daddy" and gave it to him in a Christmas gift bag. I have a card I made counting down the days to my due date for my next bfp but if I happen to get my bfp/ have an edd around a special date for us I'll probably try to come up with something creative and unique.

Omg I love your idea!!! Very adorable!!
Well, lets see all of the crazy ideas I've come up with since August 2011...
I bought a groupon for a giant fortune cookie that you can write whatever you want on the inside. That expired.
I bought a pregasauarus rawr t-shirt. He ended up finding.
I ordered a custom onesie that says "Team Erwin." I ruined it by showing him.
Annnnd I have a tiny pair of baby shoes that look like orange dinosaurs. This is the only thing that hasn't been ruined so I'll probably opt for this.
If I can keep it together enough to not run out of the bathroom yelling with pants down, I have a onesie with his favorite team on it that I'll give him. No big/fancy plan for me.

My husband would say "Is that dinner? What is it?" Haha! He so wouldn't put two and two together.
I will definitely try and come up with a fun, cute surprise...unwrap booties, hide the stick somewhere he'll find it, etc
In reality, I'll probably have an emotional breakdown in the bathroom and he'll find out then!
