Parenting after a Loss

A little frustrated

Sorry ladies I just need to vent a little bit. So this week i've been trying to get LO to nap in her room during the day so she will get used to it and we can then try and transition her to her nursery at night. It hasn't been going very well. As soon as I put her down in her crib...sometimes it takes 5 mins and she is awake. Like wide awake. So I tried her RnP in her room because that is what she sleeps in at night in our room(and she sleeps great in our room at night 5-6 hrs at a stretch). And the same thing happens. I haven't given up...but it is getting frustrating. I try to keep everything the same(ie swaddle and noise) but she is really resisting the move to her room. Thanks for letting me vent.

Re: A little frustrated

  • Could it be a lighting or temp issues? Like your room is colder than hers or her room is brighter than yours? Is there anywhere else you have tried to get her to nap like the living room or another bed room to see if its really her room or just her love of your room? Just ideas being tossed out.

  • I've heard others say the lighting makes a huge difference.  We had to swaddle and use the RnP at that age.  Also the noise machine, loud and right next to her ear.  Unfortunately, the transition didn't last too long for us.

If it could be a lighting issue, one of the moms in another group bought black out curtains.  Her LO slept really well after that.

  • No advice obviously because I'm a FTM, but ((hugs)). Hope it gets easier and something just clicks!
  • I don't think its a lighting issue...only because she will nap in the living room which would have the same amount of light as the nursery...but I could try it darker and see what happens.  Thanks for the advice.
