How's my Triplet NB stash?

I'd love your input on my stash for triplets.  The majority of what I have is for the nb stage, but I've got some OS as well.  I plan to wash daily.  I'm expecting small babies, so will worry about the OS stash once they are close to 10lbs.  We're also trying to keep it cost effective, which is why the majority of our stash will be prefolds with the occasional AIO for overnight/outtings.  Please let me know if you think I'm missing something or could use anything else.  It's hard to anticipate everything that's needed when 1) I've never CD'd and 2) I've never had triplets

5 doz GMD newborn prefolds

5 doz GMD small prefolds

5 doz GMD medium prefolds

9 preemie size prorap covers

3 Thirsties XS covers

3 Bummies NB Super Brite and/or Super Snap covers

3 Thirsties Duo size 1 covers

6 Lil Joeys AIOs - plan to get 4-6 more

3 Thirsties Duo size 2 covers

3 Blueberry OS fitteds

3 Swaddlebees Simplex OS

Assorted Hemp inserts

1 hanging wet/dry bag

1 pail liner

2 medium size wetbags (for diaper bag)

CJs BUTTer

40-50 cloth wipes (using wash cloths)

Plan to make fleece liners

Are you planning on using any sposies?

I only have one in diapers and she was small at birth and the infant size prefolds and covers where too big with her cord still attached.  We weren't able to really start until that fell off and she gained a couple pounds. She was 5lb 5oz when we came home and would have needed preemie diapers and clothes for the first few weeks.  She still in her NB cloth stash at 8 weeks and I imagine she'll be in them a few more weeks too.

My DD also goes thru a ton of diapers every day and based on this and washing everyday, I would want 24-30 diapers for each baby per day (to have as back up too - can't tell you how many diapers we've gone thru just by having her pee or poop as I'm putting them on!).  

Also, I would have at least double the wipe amounts you have now.  It's insane how many you go thru a day esp at the beginning.  I bought some but mainly cut up flannel.   

Also for that many diapers you may want to plan on two wet bags or pail liners a day.  We fill up an XL wet bag every day and half with one baby.

I just had a barely premature singleton and found that the newborn size GMD were much too big for her and that the only covers that fit were my Bummi's covers. We had a dozen premie GMD prefolds lying around that I planned to use for doublers later that fit perfectly. In addition the only AIOs that fit were the Lil' Joeys and my TotBots tini fit. I have a whole stash of KissaLuv fitteds in newborn size that we planned to use but it will be some time before they fit her. Hope this helps. (BTW I do not have any prorap covers so I don't know about the sizing but imagine that they would fit)

Thanks for the feedback so far!  I'll definitely get some preemie sized prefolds.  I do have some more wet bags on my registry, so I'll plan for one or two more than what I already have.  And I'll get more wipes too.  With the amounts I have, I never would have thought to need more, so I really appreciate the help.

I had a small newborn as well, and  I definitely agree that you need premie prefolds for the beginning, you'll probably want 6 dozen for triplets! They work great with nb bummis super brite covers! The lil Joeys were great for the beginning too, althouh my fav nb aio was the bumgenius, which started fitting around 7lbs. Congrats and GL!

Oh also, I would hold off on buying small and medium prefolds and covers. Not everyone finds the prefold love, and you may find you like one size dipes better

I would add that you will want another pail liner and another hanging bag.  That way you can have one to use right away while the other one is hanging dry.  (I assume that your hanging wet/dry bag is going in another room on a changing station.)

I think you are fine with 5 dozen to start.  You can always use a bigger size as back up if you have too, but since you will be washing every day you will be fine.  You will probably have to wash every day until they are much older since you will generate a full load every day.

Doing all changing in one room, so hanging bag is used when pail liner is in wash.  But I do have another added to registry, just in case.

They're already bought.  Due to cost, we are commiting to prefolds being our main stash, regardless of what we may like best.  I'm sure we'll add in more AIO/Pockets along the way, but not enough to use full time with 3.

I would also recommend more wipes. When he was a newborn I would run out of wipes because he pooped so much had 60 and washed EOD.

As far as economical goes, have you looked in Kawaii or Alva pockets? They are 6 to 8 dollars and work well in my opinion. We got newborn alvas and used from 2 to 8 weeks along with the prefolds. We could have used them longer too but he started fitting in OS.

I didn't see how many snappis you have but make sure you have some extras.
