I know this is a bit of a silly question. They aren't quite tall enough per say, but we now have the cribs on the lowest setting. They pull up to about their mouths at the height the cribs are now. They also sleep in sleep sacks so I think that will help keep them from getting their legs up and over which (when they are ultimately strong enough) is what I think is the main way kids attempt to climb out of cribs.
My girls are so tall....I'm scared to have to change them to toddler beds before they really understand. Especially since I do need them to share a room. We will be moving (we currently live in a 2 bedroom apartment) in late June. They will be 17 months......part of me can't imagine we won't make it till then in cribs, but I want them to be safe!
Is this normal to have them pulling up like they do and still make it another 6-12 months in the cribs?
Re: Pulling up on cribs---they can't get out right?
My memory is a bit hazy, but I think DD was about 18 months when we put her in a real bed. Even that was a lot earlier than a lot of our friends switched their kids. For most people it was closer to 2 1/2. So you'll probably be fine.
DD has always been tall too, and we never had any trouble with her climbing out (or even trying too). We switched her because she slept better in a bed.
Just be sure that you don't have anything in there (bumpers or toys) they could use as a step.
Just saw this:

(sorry no clicky on my mac)
They basically have to be able to do a pull-up to get out. As in lift their entire body weights with their arms. If you don't think they can do that, you should be good.
My guys haven't gotten out yet and they are avid climbers. And 17 months old.
