Both of my boys have family names as middle names: DS#1 - DH's first name and DS#2 - my madien name. If Baby #3 is a boy, family names are hard to come by seeing as how we've already used two and I really want all three of my children to have a meaningful MN.
One option is Louis, which I like and is meaningful given that it is the name of my great uncle who is like a grandfather to me and his son, also special to me, who died young from Cancer. All that works. The problem is my husband also has an Uncle Lou....who we are not close to and I actually don't really like him at all. We maybe see him 3 times a year. I would hate to think that his family would assume we named the baby after him.
SO....what would you do in this situation? 1. Use the name and let people think what they want. 2. Use the name and be clear who the baby is named after or 3. Look for another option.
Re: Question about namesakes - Louis
This! But I think you only need to say anything at all IF someone asks...most people probably won't say anything.
This. Screw what people will think-even family. It is YOUR son, when and your DH's
