I noticed the other day that I like E names and also names with F sound or other soft sounds for girls. DH vetoes them all.
I have had a crush on Ethel for the longest time. Elizabeth is on our list. I really like Evelyn and Eleanor/Elinor as well, I like but wouldn't use Emily and Emma. Fiona, Phoebe, Daphne, Sophia. Hadassah- to which DH asked "What is wrong with you?!" Millicent, Susannah, Samantha, Josephine Isabella, GP of Shenandoah, Charlotte have all been on our list before.
Maybe that's why Margaret doesn't quite feel right? And possibly why Katherine is the only K name on our list...and even then I prefer it with a C because it looks softer. I've liked ones with hard sounds too like Margaret, Grace and Rebekah but this might explain things a bit better to myself.
Is there a certain sound you're drawn to?
Re: Is there a sound you have a crush on?

I also like E names, and names that end with "Lyn" or "line" sounds- like Emmeline, Evelyn, Coraline, Adelyn, Madeline, Gwendolyn
For boys, I like em short and masculine- Kellen, Wyatt, Grant, Emmett, Rhett (Everett), Cole, Cain, Graeme
I love girl names that start with C/K....Katherine, Caroline, Claire were in my top 4. We are using Caroline.
This is me too.
Thirded!
I'm drawn to soft sounds, and girl names that end in "a".
You have lots of great names on your list to choose from!
Me too.
I like the names ending in -o. Milo, Roscoe, Arlo, Margo.
On the flip side, I tend to not like names ending in -a, especially if they're longer names. Alexandra, Isabella, etc. Too frilly for me.
I just want to give you a world as beautiful as you are to me.
Same here.
I also like girl names with an "or" sound, like Cordelia, Cora, Georgia, Leonora, etc.
I tend to like girl names that end in -a.
I also like names with long i, like Simon, Ivy, Iris, etc.
