Missing one feeding a week?

Most days I am away from LO for two feedings while I'm working, and I pump twice during that time. One day a week he goes to MIL's, and on those days we're apart for three feedings. If I still only pump twice during that time, how badly will it hurt my supply? It would never be more than once per week, and I generally don't have a problem with engorgement or anything. I'd be pumping at 2:00 and not feeding LO again until 6:30, possibly 7. I feel bad, but I'd love to use that time to run errands and not have to worry about pumping.

  • That shouldn't affect your supply at all.  I used to work 3 days per week and only pumped once, during lunch, even though DS would have eaten about 4 times in that span (couldn't have done it if I worked full time but my supply was able to handle it for the 3 days).
