Pregnant after 35

very cautiously saying hello too

hi Ladies, I've been on The Bump before. I'm back again. I'm 40 years old. I've got three kids , two girls 11 and 8 and one son 21months.

I had a miscarriage in Jan of this year and have just found out that i'm pregnant again. It's very unexpected, but then so was my son. Smile and the pregnacy after that which I lost. Sad

I never figured I would get pregnant 3 times after 35. Anyway..given the miscarriage earlier this year, i'm hesitant to get excited about this one.(I say that, but I'm already hoping and dreaming)  I have a doc appt Thursday and I'm hoping I'm far enough along that they might be able to check for a heartbeat with ultrasound.

So--hello! I hope I get to stick around this time!

2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

  • I was right where you are a few weeks ago and you and I have similar stories.  I think my post was titled "Feeling Pessimistic".  I just put it all in God's hands and hope and pray for the best.  That's my way of dealing with it anyway.  I will pray for you :)
  • Congrats & good luck & welcome!

  • Congratulations and welcome! I have 3 kids, too - 11, 10, and 8. I also had an early miscarriage in February, so was very nervous when I got pregnant again in May. I'm 30 weeks now, and things are good. Good luck!

I'm also 40 and this is my first- never imagined it happening this way, but I'm glad it did. :)
  • It really is in God's hands, life and death. After my miscarriage earlier this year, my pastor and his wife gave me a book called, "I'll Hold You in Heaven". It really helped me and here I am, only a few months after my D&C, pregnant again and in my 2nd Trimester. The book is very tiny but a lot of reassuring stuff in there. I would recommend it to any woman who has lost a child. It talks about all forms of loss (miscarriage, abortion, stilborn and death anytime after the birth). Say hello to your little one and trust in God's promise of Jeremiah 29:11.
