Traveling without baby after weaning from pump

So I'm weaning from the pump during work, but still nursing baby when I'm with her (so nights, mornings and weekends).  I know I will be traveling without baby for a couple of weekends in the next few months.  Do I need to pump while I'm gone from her to maintain the night and weekend supply?

  • Maybe. It depends on how often you are nursing and how long you will be gone. I'd actually be more concerned about engorgement and plugged ducts than the supply issue.

  • I'm not officially weaned from the pump yet.  Pumping twice each day at work this week, then planning on pumping only once a day next week.

We pick up DD from daycare at around 545.  She usually wants to nurse immediately when we get home.  Then I nurse her before bed (and 1-3 times during the night/morning).  Then we nurse upon demand on the weekends.

I don't think she's liking the WCM too much right now, didn't want too much of it at school/daycare.  So I could tell she was drinking more than usual when we got home.

Anyway, sorry for the tangent.  I was hoping out of laziness that I won't have to pump, but i think i probably will/should.

     Thanks!
