how does your baby wake up?

Subj: how does your baby wake up?

My baby generally wakes up crying. Just wondering if this is normal or not.

Re: how does your baby wake up?

  • At night....he cries

during the day....he either cries or starts grunting until I take his blanket off and then he is happy.

  • Sometimes he cries himself awake but I also just leave him there and he pits himself back to sleep. No major crying, about 10 sec to a min. Most times he just wakes up and starts talking looking around for me.

  • When she has had a good sleep whether in the morning or at naps, she wakes up happy [eating her hands, talking to herself]. If she wakes up crying I can usually soothe her back to sleep because that tells us she is still not fully rested. If she wakes up at night she cries.

  • Smiling, cooing, kicking his legs usually...he will wake up crying once in a great while.

  • I have to wake him up every morning and he generally is all smiles, after his big stretches, then he'll kick his legs. Very rarely will he wake up crying.
  • B wakes up crying like 95 percent of the time.
  • Thanks, everyone!
  • She just looks around, talks and laughs. Sometimes I wonder how long she is awake before I hear her.

  • For her early morning feeding, DD usually wakes up crying because she's hungry.  Then I put her down for another hour or two and she'll wake up happy because she's just no longer sleepy rather than waking up because she's super hungry.

  • Wakes up in the morning with a lot of grunting and slashing around until he releases a massive dump.  Then he is good to go!

  • He has never woke up crying, even as a brand spanking new baby, he's always grunted.

He sleeps in his crib sidecarred to my bed, and if for some reason I don't hear him, he will wiggle himself closer to me!

  • DS usually wakes up grunting and playing with his hands. Every now and then, he will wake up from a nap crying, as if he was having a bad dream.

  • He wakes up quietly and will coo and talk to himself and when I go get him he's all smiles.  Rarely wakes up crying.

  • That's how my baby generally wakes up too. And as another poster said, it's usually because he is waking up because he is hungry or needs to be changed.
  • During the week we wake him up in the morning and he smiles. On weekends he wakes up in the morning and is usually laughing and cooing, rarely crying. After naps be usually wakes up happy and cooing, If he is really hungry after his nap he wakes up screaming.
