We have a little mocking bird :)

DD has always loved it when we mimicked sounds she made but has now decided that she loves to copy the sounds we make! She'll try to make raspberries, pop her mouth, smack her lips, click her tongue and now makes words sounds.

I was with her all day today going "mama, mama, mama, mama..." so she copied me. DH came home and she looked at him and went "mamamamamammmmmmAAAA......MAMA" and he looked at me AMAZED like "OMG HER FIRST WORD!" lol it was cute. I showed him it wasn't really her first word cause it means nothing to her other than noise. He's having fun right now trying to make her say "dada" with no success so far :P

Anybody elses LOs getting pretty good at copying sounds?

Sounds like my baby. She mimics absolutely anything we say, which has DH thinking she is actually talking. I told him she was just copying sounds but he still loves it when she says DADA. I even have a video of her saying it over and over. She does make mama and baba sounds too and of course, the ahhh sounds. I think her new favorite is 'hiiiii'. I just look at her in shock everytime she does something new. Wasn't it just yesterday she couldn't support her neck and weighed 7 lbs?
