Anyone Ever Get a Microdermabrasion?

I got one over the weekend.

I have dry spots on my face. I called the salon today and the facial lady recommended sleeping with the mask on. (I was sent home with a Image brand post-facial kit).

Any other advice?

Re: Anyone Ever Get a Microdermabrasion?

  • I have flaky skin (even though it's oily, too) and I had a microdermabrasion done at a salon. No noticeable effect here :(

On a side note, I am using a new set of Aveda products that were recommended to me when I went to the spa last time to get a facial. So far it seems to be helping my dry skin more than anything else has. I'll look it up and linky it for you in a minute.

ETA: Well, I got the kit for oily skin but it has helped with my dry skin as well. You may want to try the kit for dry skin, I imagine it may work even better. The best recommendation I have is to go to a salon/spa near you and have a facial done so that someone who works with skin can ID your skin type and then they should be able to recommend what products you should go with. The salon I go to is an Aveda salon (hence all the Aveda products).

Thanks! Love Aveda products! (and it's a local company :-)

  • Wow, reading failure... Your dry skin was probably caused by the microdermabrasion since it does loosen dead skin cells you may just have some dry skin left that the microdermabrasion didn't quite remove all the way. I did linky the products in my post above, too. So far I'm having a lot more luck with them than I have any other products I've been using on my skin in the past 15+ years.
