A few of you asked, so here's how our appointment went:
First off, he's nice and healthy; 24.5 inches long, 14 pounds, 13 ounces. We went through a very through history of what's been going on and in the end, the GI told us to stop splitting his bottle with Pedialyte like his pediatrician had recommended we do (I'll get to his a little later...), upped his Prilosec from half of a solutab once a day to half of a solutab before breakfast and a quarter of one before dinner, and said that if he still has diarrhea on Wednesday, he'll send him for a stool sample to see if he has a milk allergy. Of course, ever since we came home from the appointment, DS hasn't had one poopy diaper...go figure. I might still take a diaper to the lab Wednesday. It can't hurt to have it tested just to make sure, he does show a lot of the symptoms.
Honestly, I should have pushed for them to do a test to see if he really has reflux. I have no clue what he's like off of the reflux meds, since he's been on them since week 5. SO and I are thinking of not giving it to him tomorrow and seeing what happens, since I understand that it's an instant change without the meds if they really need them, no? On the package, it says "may make dizzy." SO thinks that may be why he's so fussy after getting it. Just a theory, it's so frustrating not knowing what the hell is going on.
We're going to switch pediatricians after our four month appointment on the 11th after we get his ultrasound results (they won't give them to me over the phone). First, he told me to give him formula the third day he was alive because my milk hadn't come in - then to pump the rest of the day, resulting in DS never latching again (when the first two days, he was fine with latching). Then, he told us to put cereal in his bottle at 6 weeks, it constipated him, and I've had to give him suppisotories since. He told me DS didn't need an ultrasound of his kidneys because I had an anatomy ultrasound while I was pregnant. I pushed for one, that ended up in us going to a specialist because one kidney was bigger than the other (his dad has a condition). Then, he told us to mix breastmilk with Pedialyte, which according to the GI is a really well known revised stance from the AAP. He's also my best friend's son's pediatrician and her son is 2.5 years old and can say about 20 words. I go to school for Speech Therapy, so I told her to bring it to his attention because by 18 months, a child should have at LEAST 50 words. She did and he told her to wait until he was 3 years old to go to the ST. Early intervention is key and I could not believe he told her to wait that long! He's just a really passive doctor, doesn't have kids of his own, and although he is really sweet and is great with DS, I just don't like second guessing everything he says, and I do because of how much misinformation he's given us. I realize all pediatricians are different and practice differently, but I'd like someone more up-to-date with research/methods and a little more aggressive. I've had to push for everything.
Anyways, if you made it this far, thanks for being concerned ladies! It's been a rough day. The thought of a MSPI diet scares me and to think I'm the source of all his problems...ugh.

Re: Update, yo.
It won't hurt to take them a sample. If your DS ends up with a milk allergy its not the end of the world... I promise. When I realized Jayson had trouble tolerating dairy I cried. I thought, "I can't eat anything!" Now that I've looked up lots of recipes, and gotten ideas its not as hard. I also replaced ice cream with sorbet. I think eliminating dairy is actually one of the reasons I've been losing my pregnancy weight.
I'm glad you are making progress in your search for the cure.
Been thinking of switching practices after the CPNP acted like she knew what I was talking about when I said I was taking Domperidone then at the next appointment referred to "that fancy champagne" I was drinking. O_o
I hope you get answers soon.
I would push for a test for reflux. You gotta get to the bottom of that. Just upping meds will be a bandaid. And I know you need your sanity back! :
