N has always been good eater and was ravenous last week. This week she refuses many things we know she likes. I know she has two big molars coming in so that is a factor. Maybe it is asserting her independence. We are trying not to get frustrated and just let her eat or not without offering a bunch of things. Anyone else in this boat?
Re: Good eater refusing to eat
I also agree that it's probably a lot to do with asserting independence. C will throw her food on the floor because she thinks its funny but it doesn't mean she's full. So then I have to find something she will eat. I really try not to power struggle over food but it is frustrating. I know that she's too young to understand the "eat what's in front of you or don't eat" logic. I'm still trying to find a happy medium between letting her explore but setting boundaries.
lol when you find that happy medium, can you let me know? Bc I would love to find it too! :-)
He always wants food on my plate though and he'll almost always eat food if I feed it to him with a spoon. So, sometimes I put a piece of food on a spoon and give it to him. Then I just give him the spoon and let him try to feed himself. He'll usually eat them, even though he can't figure out how to eat with the spoon. He'll just hold it in one hand and feed himself with the other. I guess he just likes to think he's feeding himself with it, haha.
My guy is similar! If he won't eat what I'm feeding him, sometimes, he just likes to hold a spoon and a jar of food (unopened) like the ones I'm using. Then he'll start eating from my spoon/jar. Silly baby!!
