High-Risk Pregnancy

CVS test?

Has anyone on here had a CVS test?  I have mine tomorrow morning, and have been getting mixed messages regarding what to expect.  One place told me that I could go back to work after, another said take a couple of days off.  I am a teacher and am used to working through pain, and like being distracted from pain by working (and distracted from waiting for the results).  I would appreciate any advice on what to expect during and after, or any tips!  Thanks :)

PS - I am having it because of a balanced chromosome translocation.

Re: CVS test?

  • Hi I'm also getting a cvs test done a in a few days ( the 18th) and the place in getting it done at told me to take it easy the day before(no sex) and bed rest the day of so to get home an rest. And for the next 3-5 days to take it very easy minimal walking, no cleaning she even said no cooking haha no picking up anything over 10lbs no sex, no flying. I'm getting my done at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital. We are getting ours done because both my husband and I carry the gene mutation for surfactant ABCA3 Dificiency sadly we lost our second daughter to this on 1/15/2011 she was a month old so we want to know where we are with this pregnancy. Good luck! I'm not sure if I saw this after you had it but either way good luck and let me know how it went.
