So back in July I lost my baby at 15 weeks. I went to my OB and she set me up a few days later in a hospital to do...uh, not the D&C but whatever the other procedure is where I take those abortion pills vaginally and pass the baby naturally? Anyway, so after that I was dealing with the loss and everything and I mentioned Medicaid to my family once -- they told me: "Hey, don't worry about it. We'll let them know if it makes you feel better." so it just slipped from my mind to call and let them know.
Flash forward to now, a few days before my original EDD, I get some mail in telling me that I'm now enrolled into United Healthcare and it is a part of some program called "MississippiCAN". But I read that you had to be pregnant, or otherwise eligible for Medicaid (which outside of being pregnant, I'm not). So that freaked me out and I asked the people who said they'd "handle it" if they ever did -- and they didn't.
Basically, now I'm worried I've been unintentionally on Medicaid when I shouldn't be, thus that being fraud. It's not like I've been to the doctor since then, except for the follow-up with my OB at the end of July. I also thought: "Well shouldn't Medicaid know since they'd have gotten the bill, and thus know I went in for an assisted miscarriage?" What's worse is I can't call until tomorrow to find out, and I'm worried this is going to come back to bite me in the bum when I get pregnant again in case I need to go on Medicaid again.
So does anyone know if you're supposed to report to Medicaid, or would the hospital's bill be enough? I still plan to call tomorrow, but I just wish I knew now... :
