All it took to get DD to go from 2 minutes of tummy time to almost 30 minutes of tummy time was...

a paci!! I know, who could of known how much difference this thing could have made in our lives! lol. She started taking a paci a little over a week ago, a few days later she was a pro at taking a bottle (she is EBF and I had been trying to introduce a bottle so she could have the occasional one for DH and I to go out and I tried over 10 different types and she wouldn't take any of them) and she also doesn't care what bottle I give her. And now, as long as she has a paci in her mouth, tummy time isn't the end of the world and she actually seems to like it! She just went almost 30 minutes, I can't believe it!

  • Hmm... Maybe I should try that with DS. He loves his pacifier but when he gets upset it's hard to get him to take one. I bought a special tummy time boppy for him and he lasted about 5 mins longer each time yesterday.

  • Wow I never thought of using a paci during tummy time! I will give it a try!

  • I give mine a paci during tummy time when he starts to get fussy. Works great unless he has a belly ache. That's usually followed by puke.

  • Mine get a paci no matter what they are doing. They could really take it or leave it for the most part but my goal is to keep their fingers and thumbs out of their mouths!
