Pregnant after a Loss

I'm afraid to eat... (Gallbladder)

Ugh!  I had another "attack" - I really wish I knew what it was exactly that made my stomach feel like it gets all tied up in a knot...

I have a dr appt this week.  I just hope he tells me its not my gallbladder and he can tell me how to make it so that I am not feeling sh-tty every few days.

THANK GOD for percocet (left over from c-section).

But now... I'm afraid to eat because I don't want to cause another attack.  I ended up eating some rice for dinner tonight.. .but I'm starving.  I'm worried about my breast milk and not supplying enough for Avery if I'm not eating.

Help!

Re: I'm afraid to eat... (Gallbladder)

  • Ugh, I'm sorry - that must be really stressful.   I have a friend who had major gallbladder issues during pg and had to have hers removed a few months later.   I know what it's like to be afraid to eat - with all my GI issues (major heartburn and then major gas pains), I feel like I should just live on oatmeal and saltines for the rest of my pg.  It's no fun.   I hope it's not your gallbladder and they can get you feeling better soon!

  • Ugh! The attacks really stink. But don't worry about your supply. Baby always gets first dibs. You know??

I have found that chicken breast, sliced deli turkey, toast, oatmeal, etc. Anything low in fat is what I can eat. ?

  • Oh gosh.. Now i just googled gall bladder attacks after you responded to my ulcer posts and THAT sounds like my symptoms too.. I definitely need to get this checked out with my Dr.. But I don't want gallbladder surgery! YIKES.. at least if i had an ulcer I could just pop some pills..

  • I had a lot of problems with my gallbladder and had it removed when I was 20. I had to eat foods very low in fat or fat free until we figured it out and got it removed. Try avoiding foods high in fat it should help.

I had gallstones for a year when I was 19 before they found out what was going on with me. I had to get my gallbladder removed. I would do what Natalia said and avoid eating foods high in fat. GL!

Same here, except the gallbladder issue eventually resolved on its own without surgery. I had to go on a very low fat diet for a few months and I didn't have any episodes after that. GL!?

  • Sorry that sucks.  I had mine removed a few months ago.  It depends on what is actually causing the attacks to see if diet will help or not.  I actually had 1 huge stone that would block mine when I layed down, so it actually had nothing to do with food.  The good news is having it removed was not too bad and I have felt so much better.
