Welcome! This is a check-in for moms who are/were on a dairy free and/or soy free diet due to their LO's intolerance. The check-ins will be posted every Monday morning on the Breastfeeding board and XP'd to the Food Allergy board. I will RP a link to the check-in on the Breastfeeding board on Monday evenings for the nighttime posters, if the check-in isn't on the first page of posts. If you'd like to join the group, just post an intro here and dive in!
To check out the archive of our previous check-ins, please see the MSPI Moms Blog.
QOTW:How did everyone's Thanksgiving go? Was Thanksgiving easier/harder than you anticipated? (Or how was your weekend, for our Canadian gals). ![]()

Re: ~*~*MSPI Moms Weekly Check-In*~*~
I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving went better than I expected. I had turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, biscuits, veggies, rice, and blueberry pie. My mom was awesome about making as much stuff MSPI friendly as she could. I did miss the green bean casserole though!
Here's the blueberry pie my mom made:

This isn't Thanksgiving related, but my mom also found an AWESOME MSPI friendly cake/cupcake recipe. They are super easy and are sooo good:

Icing:

I'm going to make the cupcakes for DD2's 1st bday party in January and again for DD1's 3rd bday in February!
DD1: allergic to eggs & dairy
c/p 4/1/11
DD2: milk and soy protein intolerant, allergic to eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, bananas

Mine started out a little rough. We're only on week 3 of being dairy free, so I was a little bitter/jealous of everyone else getting to eat all that yummy food. But it was a good excuse not to eat all the fatty foods that I shouldn't be eating anyway. I had ham, mashed potatos that I made, broccoli salad, roasted sweet potatoes, and Oreos for dessert.
Dessert was the hardest because MIL made Eggnog pie, Pumpkin pie, apple pie, and cheesecake with chocolate mousse on top. Ugh.
Ours went pretty good, but I brought 75% of the food that I ate, so...
My MIL tried...she really did. But I'm positive she used something on the no-no list when she made the turkey, because DS2 had some yucky, mucusy, green diapers for 3 days afterwards & that's the only "questionable" food I ate.
I'm really used to this diet now (it's been 11 weeks today), but it still sucks sometimes because I have to be so super careful about what I eat.
