Talk to me about your favorite carrier. My plan is to wear baby #2 so that I can play with DD more freely etc. I had the eurobaby for DD and after a while it got very uncomfortable as she got heavier. I have lower lumbar fractures and hardware on my spine. So, I really want to wear baby but I need a carrier that is back friendly for the most part. I have heard good things about the Maya Wrap and Ergo. School me. I'm looking for suggestions. Thank you!
Re: Back Pain: In need of a spine friendly carrier.
I had spine issues during and after my second pregnancy and loved the ergo. It was great on my back. In the early months when baby was still lightweight I really liked the bjorn. We used the sport model with the extra lumbar support. Once baby was around 15ish pounds we switched over to the ergo and still use it today. I've even worn my 35lb almost 3 year old in it comfortably on my back.

I have herniated discs and degenerative disc disease on top of scoliosis- so I know spine problems.
I used the Moby in the beginning because I had a winter baby, and that was good and supportive- plus she was tiny so the weight didn't bother me.
As she got older, I found a mai tei to be the most comfortable. I have a Boba (basically a wider set Ergo) and love that too, but the the mai tei for sure places less pressure on my hips and spine. I used a woven wrap too, and it was fantastic for weight distribution- but the bending over required for back wrapping hurt too much.
Like the others I suggest you find a store or a meetup.com group to figure out what is most comfortable for you.
