Help please! Daycare in Somerset or Bridgewater

Hi there,

I am a first-time mom who is pretty sure she is going to be going back to work at least 4 days a week. I live in the Basking Ridge area and work in Bridgewater/Somerset. I have been trying to Google good daycares for infants and I am having a really hard time getting solid reviews.

I would be SO grateful if anyone has suggestions, has ones they would NEVER use, and any cost information.

Thank you!

Erin

  • KinderKastle is a fantastic center. My daughter attended the one in Metuchen until she entered elementary school 3 years ago. A friend of mine utilizes the Bridgewater facility and loves it.
  • Thank you so much for your response! It's a hard decision, obviously!, so I really value input!!

  • No problem at all! I remember going through the process and making the decision. I tried a few places and just was not comfortable. And at the end of the day, its got to be whats comforting to you. You have to leave your child at this place while you go to work. You need the peace of mind that they are in good hands. This is a time to have no doubts. Go and take a tour. Ask tons of questions. They are used to it. :) Best of luck on your search.
  • You're absolutely right. I am only 23 weeks, but I am trying to be proactive because I can't leave myself with too few options! :)
  • Hi Erin!

I work in Basking Ridge and there is a daycare opening in my building on Mt. Airy Rd.  It is named Learning Express-they are not yet open but I believe they plan to open within 6 months from now.

    Good Luck!

MMC @ 10 weeks, baby measured 9.2 weeks, no heartbeat. Cytotec induced miscarriage on 1/16/14, d&c for retained tissue 2/7/14. My august angel baby
  • Thank you very much, Cristine! That is just around the corner from where we live! I think I will probably try to have the baby closer to me at work rather than nearer to home, but that is really good to know. I am not looking forward to this decision, but I will feel much better if I have different options available!!
  • Goddard School in Branchburg.  I love it and it is where I send my kids.

JCC is another good one, Talmani.  Have a lot of programming for your kids once they get older.

Stellar Academy, Bridgewater, highly recommended in the area . . however, for us, it was on the otherside of town, opposite direction then where weo go.

KinderCare, a know a lot of people who send their kids.

Creme de la Creme.  just opened last year. .  mixed reviews, but very stringent policies on operations, but the inside looks like a mini town.

  • Thank you very much for this info! I have heard good things about Stellar, as well. Do you have any idea on their pricing? I hate that that information isn't available anywhere!

My niece went to a Goddard and they are wonderful. I would love to consider that but Branchburg might just be a little too far west. I have heard good things about Creme too, but then again, might be just a bit too far. What do you mean stringent in operations? Could you give me an example?

I know what u mean.  we are looking for kindergarten for dd now and there isnt a lot about pricing and everything on the website.

i believe stellar was 1295 when we looked at it for dd, but that was two yrs ago and when dd was going into their preschool program.

Creme, so if your child is swaddled and you want your child to be swaddled when they are napping, they won't do it.  They give you a must wear  sleep sack.  As they get older, there is uniforms.   For DS, when we checked it out.  It was 1066 when he was 15 months.

  • Thank you, Rissa! I appreciate your input and your sharing prices very much. It helps to give me some idea. I hope your search for kindergarten goes well! Merry and bright holiday season to you!

No worries!  Good luck with your search as well!

Hope you had a great holiday season.

  • I'm wondering how your search went for daycare..we are in Bernardsville and looking at The Palmer School in town and hopefully The Learning Exerience that should be opening on Mount Airy...how did you find the Bridgewater options? Thanks!
