DS' pediatrician is having us do 2oz of pedialyte with 2oz of breastmilk for the next 24 hours because of diarrhea. I looked on KellyMom and it says this is an outdated practice and may even delay healing.
Anyone mixed the two and had good results? Or bad? Help.

Re: pedialyte in bm?
Breastmilk is all your LO needs. You want to nurse frequently and watch for signs of dehydration. Salty pedialyte is not likely to be tolerated or palatable to your LO.
If LO won't nurse, stops peeing or shows other signs of dehydration then your LO may possibly need IV fluids. Pedialyte will not help a LO who is getting breastmilk.
