Progesterone users...question

Hi ladies, 

Just looking for some insight on progesterone cream. I used it last month while doing IUI and I had some very strong symptoms (sore breasts, very nauseous- couldn't eat a thing!, etc etc you get the idea). This month DH and I are trying on our own and I was told by the RE to use the cream CD17. I waited until CD20 because I had positive OPK's around CD 18 and 19. I have different symptoms this month and they are much more mild than last. Oh, and last month I got my period even on the cream- this month I am still waiting for AF to show her ugly head.

So here are my questions if you have used the cream before- have you had different symptoms different cycles? Just wondering if my body is flucking with me or if it is the progesterone? And have you had any instances where you got your period one month while on it and then one month had to stop the cream in order to get your period? 

Thanks so much in advance ladies! (and just so you know- I have taken tests since last week- all BFN-even today) I am not wondering if I am pregnant but more if I should call my RE to see if I should stop the cream to get my period all this TTCAL really sucks!

I don't use cream, but suppositories.  My symptoms are pretty much the same each month, but they differ in their severity from cycle to cycle.  I start mine 4 days after my trigger, usually 2-3 dpo.  

For me, AF will stay away as long as I continue the progesterone.  My RE has me continue taking it until 14dpo each cycle.

I also used suppositories, but only for one cycle, so I can't attest to how symptoms might change cycle to cycle.  If my understanding is accurate, part of the goal of progesterone supps is to delay the onset of a new cycle and shedding of the uterine lining.  Mine were stopped with a negative beta at 15dpo.  If you are not getting BFPs or a positive beta at 15dpo, you should stop taking it.

As a disclaimer though, I'm not a doctor, so you should probably call yours

Started Crinone last month, got a BFN so I stopped and AF came 2 days later (I was on Crinone in July when my M/C started so I've experienced both). What I'm noticing is how long my period seems to be lasting after a progesterone supported cycle. Not sure why that is.

Another thought, did your RE up your progesterone dosage this cycle?  My RE mentioned she would up my dosage if I ever had break through bleeding before AF.

No, the RE did not up my dosage this cycle. The crinone is an insert kind of like yeast infection cream so I just use it once a day. They said nothing about me getting my period while on it they said that does happen to ppl. I don't know what to think at this pt. I think they might have done something different if I was doing another IUI, but alas, we cannot do anymore due to financial issues so it is just TI for now and the meds they have me on.

Sigh. I guess I will be giving them a call in the a.m. Maybe they can do a beta to confirm a neg and then I can stop it

your body's own production of progesterone can vary cycle to cycle. it may be that your body produced just enough that you don't have breakthrough bleeding this month. i'm sorry that it is looking like a bfn.

I use Crinone for my short LP. I always get AF while I'm still taking it like at 11 or 12dpo. I've asked about taking it twice a day but have been told that isn't necessary based on how much is in the one dose.
