Cloth Diapering

Sweating in CDs?

I was wondering if anyone else has any experience with this. My LO is still too small to fit in most of his CDs, at less than 6 pounds, but I've put his AlvaBaby pockets on a few times. Every time I put them on, when I take them off they are soaked.. in sweat. Is this normal? I have even tried putting on his CDs with just a simple onesie, and he still sweats in them. TIA!

Re: Sweating in CDs?

  • Are you sure it's sweat and not urine?

  • CDs breathe more than disposables.

How often are you changing? What are you stuffing with?

  • His diapers are odorless and there's no color? They're soaked end to end, even up to the back. Usually when he pees in the diaper, it's a very pale yellow on the microfiber insert. I mean, I guess it could be pee, but it seems like an awful lot for 1.5-2 hours between changes. It's just the regular Alva Baby pocket with the microfiber insert that comes with it.

That sounds absolutely normal. DD gets changed at least every 2 hours during the day and her diapers are usually quite soaked.

Sounds totally normal. Cloth diapers are heavier than disposables so sometimes they seem like they are a lot fuller than a disposable. Also I can totally tell by smell when LO is wet when he is wearing a disposable and in cloth I usually can't smell it at all.
