DS has never really been a laid-back baby, but the past few days he's gotten into some really cranky moods. Sometimes it is gas, but I think part of it is also teething. I can see several new bumps on his gumline and the top two front teeth are moving ever closer to the surface. I have some homeopathic teething tablets as well as Tylenol, but I'm not sure whether to use them as a preventative or wait until he's in pain. I don't really want to give him lots of meds, but I also want to help him manage his pain safely. We've tried teethers but so far he gets more frustrated with them than anything. So what do you do for your LO's teething pain? How frequently, and for what duration did you do it?
Also, unrelated to the teething, but do you notice your LO's get more gassy when they spend a long time in the car seat? We just got back from my parents' house yesterday, and after 5 hours in the car each way (broken up), he has been super gassy.
Re: What do you do for teething pain? (and gas ?)
We use baby Advil for DD's teething pain, it's more effective and lasts longer than Tylenol.
For gas, we swear by gripe water.
HTH! And good luck with your LO!
Ooh this sounds interesting. I'll have to google about it.
Our pedi said we could give tylenol for teething but no gels or anything like that for his gums. I haven't given tylenol yet.. just teething rings kept in the fridge. I found some that are different shapes and easier for him to fit in his mouth (I believe they are Bright Starts).
