WTF, body? bleeding

in TTC After a Loss
I literally haven't bled at all since my DC last Friday, so it has been eight days. I wake up this morning and it looks like I started my freaking period. In addition to being gross and very not awesome, now I'm confused about my charting.

Do I start over a new cycle? Do I just consider this spotting? Can I kill my ute?
BFP #1 - Mango - 6/11/12, EDD 2/22/12 Natural MC 7/15/12
BFP #2 - Nacho - 10/14/12, EDD 6/20/13, MMC 8 weeks, D&C 11/16/12
All testing shows both H and I are perfectly normal. Baby Nacho had triploidy. 
Back to normal business December 2012
BFP #3 - Froggy - 1/15/13, EDD 9/27/13 TEAM GREEN

    Is it like bleeding bleeding or spotting? I would stick with this cycle and see what happens.

    Oh, it's bleeding. Straight up AF style

    I don't know anything about the charting aspect but a similiar thing happened after a previous DnC. I had no bleeding for 5 days and then heavy. And yes, definitely kill your ute!

    4 Losses (2003, 2008, Apr 2012, & Oct 2012)
    All RPL and IF testing with multiple REs = normal

    5 IUIs = BFN

    All AL are welcome

    Same thing happened to me...nothing until 8 days after the D and C. For me it only lasted a day. I hate when a ute goes rogue!

    I don't know anything about D&Cs, so I'm useless in that regard.  But for FF, I would say you should mark it what it is.  If it's moderate flow, mark it that way.

    Don't kill your ute.  You'll need it later.  But you can certainly threaten it, berate it, and drown it with wine and ice cream.  Granted, that hasn't seemed to work for me so far, but I still have a tiny bit of sanity left, so it must be helping somehow.

    I've heard of this happening before. My doctor even warned me of it. So you shouldn't have anything to worry about. But, that totally sucks and I wish you didn't have to deal with that, on top of everything else! I have no advice about your chart. Just [[[hugs]]].

    It totally normal.
    Your period is caused by a drop in progesterone, it's a hormonal event versus a dc which is just a surgical one. It means your progesterone levels have finally dropped to non pregnant levels, and telling your uterus to shed. They don't get everything when they go in there... This is just leftovers [for lack of a better word] coming out. It will probably be a very short period. If you chart, technically this is cd1.

    This happened to me exactly- no bleeding and then all of sudden period like bleeding, with clots (about 1-2in), and a lot of cramping. Nurses at the hospital said to call Dr. if I fill a pad within 3 hours, but my Dr. then said within 1 hour.   She also said this is very normal during the first 2 weeks from a D&C.

    I agree with Katherine to count this as CD1 for charting purposes, but in regards to TTA cycles, I would ask your Dr. about whether to count it as a period. My Dr said not to.

    thanks for the advice, friends.... I'll mark as CD1 on FF and ask my doctor whether it counts as a period (good call, hadn't thought of it...)
