LO is sick...

The pedis nurse line suggested smaller, more frequent meals. Now LO's poop is green with some mucous. I think the mucous might be from her cold. But do I need to worry about hind milk fore milk imbalance? Or is it ok for the short term?

Re: LO is sick...

  • No, not vomiting. Just congested, fever, and cough. Thanks for the advice. I've been offering often. She was taking it well until the last few hours. All she will do right now is scream if not being rocked standing up. Long night.

  • Sorry you guys are having a rough time. :[ My DD's just got over a cold, they were so incredibly congested. I had to use the nosefrida on DD2 before all of her feedings, otherwise, she couldn't breath to nurse. Even then, I could still hear the gunk in her nose, it was so far back, I just couldn't clear it all out.

Anyway, ditto the humidifier, saline, nosefrida. It also helps the congestion to drain if they sleep propped up. So if LO can still fit in the swing or RnP, she might sleep better that way...or if she's still in the infant car seat, that would work too.

I'd keep an eye on her for signs of an ear infection. Both times DD1 has had an ear infection, her symptoms mainly came on at night. She would scream bloody murder if we laid her down, so we had to hold her in the recliner for her to sleep [until we got her the antibiotics].

Hope your LO gets better soon and that you both get some rest. You also might try giving her Tylenol, or Ibuprofen [if she's over 6 months]. She might have a headache from the congestion.
