Lumps in armpits

I was seen at my doctor for an infected cyst in my armpit. I have to have surgery to have it completely removed. I now have 3 or 4 small hard lumps in each armpit. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with breast feeding. I could be totally off, but it's the only new thing in the past few weeks. Thoughts??

Re: Lumps in armpits

  • Was the infected cyst before you had your LO? It could be plugged ducts, as mammary tissue extends into the armpits.

  • No it was after. DD was about a month old. These are sore to touch. But my breasts feel fine and I'm not having and issues.

  • I had similar lumps in the beginning with DS and my LC told me it was just part of the clogged ducts and to just massage them while I was feeding. It hurt like a mother, but they went away. I've gotten a few more since then and all I have to do is a little massage and they are usually gone within a day or two.
