Diaper bag recs?

So, I pulled a FTM and bought the not-practical cutesy diaper bag. It's been ok, but I'm tired of lugging the huge thing around and never being able to find anything in it.

I need something that I can toss a bottle, some cheerios, a few toys, diapers/wipes and a change of clothes into.

Can you help me?

Oh I so did the very same thing!  I long ago stowed away my unpractical, but cute looking bag and ever since have been using the Diaper Dude messenger bag I bought for my husband.  Granted, the one I bought him does have skull & crossbones on it (LOL!), but I still use it with no shame!  It's so practical, 3 great pockets on the front that I use for formula, bottle and food, and great middle pocket for diapers, clothes and things, and then a nice open back pocket that I throw paci's, puffs and who knows what else.  Works great, not huge - but big enough!

I'm still using my Skip Hop Versa and like it but H thinks it's too small. I don't care what he thinks most of the time.

we have been using the exact same one for the last few months but camouflage instead of skull and crossbones. i really like it especially the front pockets

Same thing happened to me! I settled on the JuJuBe BFF and, although it's not perfect, I do like it. 

Honestly, though, I still have a hard time with bags and will rarely use the JuJuBe. If we're going out to eat, I have to bring jar food, spoon, bowl, wipes for table, bib, sippy cup, puffs, bottle. I usually just put this stuff in a small reusable tote and then carry a diaper with me. I also sometimes use my Vera bag by Vera Bradley. It's nice and big and will fit toys, food, diapers, etc. It's the best solution I've found so far. Sorry I'm not more of a help.

Actually, this is a lot of a help! I was thinking about just getting a VB tote bag or backpack. I was looking at the Mandy or the Double Zip Backpack. I also like a few of the JuJuBe bags... it's a tough decision!

I have the organizing tote from Thirty-One Gifts.  It's great because there are pockets all around and the top is open to the inside for easy grabbing.  Though I also don't like it because the top is open - I'm always worried something is going to fall out.  I also have a Carter's diaper bag that I very rarely use since I'm too lazy to move everything back and forth between the two.  I love the idea of getting a small VB tote or backpack.  It would be great for quick trips when the big bag isn't needed.
