Figured out something HUGE!

Last week we took LO to pedi because of bad eczema. They claimed Milk protein intolerance and sent us home with nutramigen. We brought a tool sample the next day, tested negative for blood and mucus. He was getting better slightly, with the new formula. We went back this week for a check up and she said, keep on going with the nutramigen and sent us home with more samples. I noticed the label was different, this one said, LIPIL. Ok, she said it was NBD.  we gave him th formula next day, had tons of spit up, which wasn't his norm. Now, it was a thanksgiving day and we are out of state. We gave him his bottles and he was screaming bloody murder and his eyes were swollen and he broke out in a rash on top of the eczema. Omg.  I was beside myself. I told my husband I really thought we should go find the nutramigen with enflora like we had been using...the 11:00 feeding was my breaking point. Thank god it was black Friday and target was open. We rushed there and bought the enflora. Luckily they took me at guest services so we didn't have to wait on a three hour line...anyway, we got home and I'm looking at the labels, trying to figure out the difference. The LIPIL had  DHA and Omega 3. Then it dawned on me, Omega 3 comes from fish oil and my husband has allergies to shellfish. And he breaks out the same way baby did. So, I am 99percent positive this has been the issue all along. I had stopped nursing bc I couldn't figure out why his skin was reacting, my prenatals had DHA and omega 3 in them, and I guess as it built up in my system it transfers to baby.    Now, I'm not a doctor but the last three feelings have been normal again. I can't wait to call doc on Monday.  I feel so relieved and I know there could be more to it, but for right now, I am happy and proud of myself!
