It depends on what style you want.... the backpack style disguises pretty well.  The shoulder bag version can look almost like a laptop bag depending on the style.  I have a green Columbia shoulder or messenger bag that looks somewhat like a laptop bag that worked well.

Have him pick out one that works for the both of you.  Unless you want a really girly one and use it as a purse, there is really no need to have two diaper bags.

For me, it doesn't matter what others think so I have a more traditional diaper bag that is shared.

I'm thinking shoulder bag style - we're going to get two more for convenience than in order to conform to gender norms - although the title of my post probably belied that a little

To add on to this question, I am looking for a good manly diaper bag that could even double as a gym bag.  I can't ask my Husband as its a christmas gift for him.  I'm making him the daddy-survival bag for christmas as we are due December 23rd and this is our first go at this   Need some good guy tips

Got my husband a bag from Target (online) called the "Diaper Dude".  It's a black messenger bag with white skulls on it.  He really likes it.  It comes in other "manly" colors, like camouflage and looks more like a laptop bag than a diaper bag.
