Feeding Changes

Hunter (10 weeks) has been a pretty routine feeder. Every 1.5 to 2 hours about 15-20 a side. Well, the last couple days, his routine has totally changed. He's about every 2 hours still but only eating from about 5-10 minutes a side. If he goes 15 minutes, he only does the one side. He seems happy & content after, but he is definitely not emptying me.

It just seems odd? Not sure what to call it. Could it be that he has become more efficient at feedings?

He is still having enough wet diapers etc. I'm starting to let him focus on one boob to help empty that, and then alternate boobs offered. But then the one side is engorged by the next feeding, so I'm having to pump too (which I was trying to phase out of since I hate it so much).

Anyone else go through this?

Ds is only 8 weeks but I think something similar started happening at 6 weeks. He started nursing for 15 or 20 instead of an hour. And only on one side. For 2 days I pumped the other side. One the 3rd day I figured it wasn't a fluke and must be his new patter. So I started lowering my pumping time on the side he didn't drink from. Then no pumping. No he drinks from one side at at time and my boobs are used to it I guess. Not sure if I handled it correctly but that's what I did.
