Burping????

Hello mammas,

I am a new ftm (as of nov. 19th ) and I am having a really hard time with burping. After feeding her I try to burp her and nothing ever happens, I have tried all the different positions and sit there for about 5-10 minutes trying to burp before giving up. I really hate seeing her in pain and really gassy afterwards and would love any advice if anyone has some! I am just now getting my milk in this evening and am hoping that it will be easier, not sure if that makes a difference or not.

Re: Burping????

  • For the first couple weeks my little guy wouldn't burp after feeding him. I just recently have been getting something out of him. If he has a bottle DH is able to burp him almost right away.

He gets his gas out the other end most of the time!!

  • Thank you! I just hate to see her in pain, but am glad to know that it gets easier! :)
  • Like PP said, get LO really high on your shoulder. Like, belly button on the shoulder. Burp with one hand and hold on to LO with the other. I had a really hard time at first too, still do sometimes. Sometimes it helps to lean LO back and forward in a sitting position to knock the gas bubble loose. GL.
